This handcrafted saya features a Murasaki Kōtaku-nuri (紫光沢塗) finish—an elegant lacquer technique using a rich purple base polished to a high gloss. The smooth, lustrous surface reflects light beautifully, giving the saya a refined and dignified appearance. The deep violet tone symbolizes elegance, nobility, and subtle strength in Japanese aesthetics.

The koiguchi (mouth), kurigata (cord knob), and kojiri (end cap) are made from polished natural horn, ensuring both durability and natural elegance.
