This katana is hand-forged (Tezukuri / 手作り) from high-carbon modern steel (高炭素現代鋼) in the Maru-zukuri (丸造) style. The blade is clay-tempered (yaki-ire / 焼入れ) to produce a gonome hamon (互の目刃文), with a bright-polished ji (地) and a distinct, lively hamon. The koshirae includes a mokkō-gata tsuba (木瓜形鍔) made of tetsu (鉄地, iron) with a blackened finish (煮黒). The fuchi-kashira (縁頭) are crafted from hakudō (白銅) and decorated with detailed sakura motifs (桜図). The habaki (鎺) is made of suaka (素赤銅), polished for a refined transition between blade and mountings. The menuki (目貫), forged from hakudō (白銅), feature floral designs (花図) that complement the koshirae theme. The tsuka is wrapped in red cotton ito (赤色木綿柄糸) over natural samegawa (鮫皮), with hishigami (菱紙) forming a traditional diamond pattern (菱組). The saya is finished in red ishime-ji lacquer (赤石目塗), creating a vivid textured surface. The sageo (下緒) is red synthetic fiber (赤色合成下緒), tightly woven to complete the mounting.
